Hey fever cure butterbur

It’s the first year I’ve had hey fever, I’m 52. There must be something in the air!!
I tried a 1 a day well known supermarket brand tablet. I used them for 10 days, absolutely no change.
I ordered some clean butterbur after reading it might help. I really wanted these to work as I believe in natural remedies.
I can honestly say I felt it work instantly.
I took one a day for maybe 7 days and all the hay fever symptoms have gone away.
Incredible. I would recommend if you have hay fever to try these for yourselves. Many thanks, mark, uk.

Butterbur

I've been taking butterbur for hay fever for about 4 weeks. I would say that it helped straight away with my reaction to pollen. Calming sneezing and runny nose. Hay fever season for me has been particularly unpleasant this year. My itchy eyes had been driving me crazy and my system was so overwhelmed that I was becoming extra sensitive to dust mites and pet dander. I had switched from using over the counter eye drops to just washing my face with cold water and discovered that I had also been having an allergic reaction to the eye drops. I get a bad reaction to antihistamine tablets and so it seems to eye drops for hay fever. I have done some research on supplements which might help with supporting the immune system and helping it from overreacting to external triggers - dealing with the cause rather than just managing symptoms. I came across reishi mushrooms. Checked out reishi mushrooms on the BS website and ordered some. Within 5 minutes of taking the first dose I was able to breathe through my nose and lie on my back for the first time in years. I've been taking the butterbur and reishi together for 10 days now and I have to say that this has been a life changer. My body is no longer struggling each day with the hay fever. It just feels calmer and for the first time in many years I can actually enjoy the summer. I did notice that I woke up with an itchy palate and further research led me to discover that our bodies release histamine naturally between 3:00 a.m. And 6:00 a.m. in preparation for waking us up. So on a couple of occasions I've taken butterbur and reishi in the early hours of the morning and within about 15 minutes my body is calm again. I might experiment with taking butter bur twice a day and taking reishi before I go to bed instead of in the morning. What I do know is that I am going to continue taking this combo long-term. Thank you, Chris.

Plant Sterols

I have to have my bloods checked every 3 months because of side effects of meds I’m taking for Psoriasis. My cholesterol had been creeping up, one of the things they check for, so I started taking Plant Sterols. 3 months later the count had dropped from 7.9 to 6.9…. Thank you BS for supply a clean alternative.. I’ll carry on taking it & hoping for similar results on the next test…

a good adjunct

full disclaimer: British Supplements let me have this month's supply of butterbur for my bad hayfever for only the cost of shipping. But this is my honest review. It is claimed, in peer reviewed papers no less, that butterbur has comparable effectiveness to fexofenadine. I did find that butterbur worked, but I was not able to replace fexo because fexo lasts a long time: 12 hours actual (24 hr claimed). Whereas the butterbur in my experience needs to be taken 4x per day. So, I did find it useful, and I do have BAD hayfever, so those with only mild hayfever might find butterbur is all they need. But for me it was an effective adjunct to my normal medication and not a full substitute.

Butterbur

I was lucky enough to be able to try the Butterbur on Chris's trial. I already take Nettle leaf, Quercetin and NAC to help with my hay fever, runny nose and tight chest in the summer months which help me enormously, especially with my breathing for my open water swimming sessions - hayfever in the summer months and for the cold temperatures in the winter months I continue to take NAC. But having tried the Butterbur for a month I wasn't sure it worked until I stopped taking it and I soon noticed the difference with my breathing and my chest feeling tighter. Not only will I continue to take it during the summer months, the Butterbur will be a serious contender for the winter months too.

Read that again

Walk down any UK high street or scroll any sites online, it's all weak, filler-stuffed snake oil most of the time. Thin air with fancy marketing.

Funny, that. Nobody ever felt a thing off them, so there's nothing worth censoring, so the sellers carry on untouched it seems.

Here is a pattern I've noticed over the years:

Who Benefits?
  • Supplements that do nothing - you stay unwell - you end up a Big Pharma customer. Allowed
  • Negative reviews - "see, herbs don't work, go get their pills." Allowed
  • Not Allowed

As your humble narrator would say.

    • Freedom of speech ✗ Not Allowed
    • Real reviews (your experience / feedback on each supplement) ✗ Not Allowed
    • Categories that help you find what you need IE Heart Health for example ✗ Not Allowed
    • Scientific research links on this page? ✗ Not Allowed

They don't want freedom of speech around natural products as they don't want you to be aware that you have a choice.

The better it works, the more they want it gone. And here's the exact law they created to stop natural products

Urgent Notice · UK GovIt is an offence to sell or supply or to advertise a medicinal product which does not have authorisation.A "medicinal product" is defined in Regulation 2 of the Human Medicines Regulations. The definition is:
  1. 1. Any substance or combination of substances presented as having properties for treating or preventing disease in human beings.
  2. 2. Any substance or combination of substances which may be used in or administered to human beings either with a view to restoring, correcting, or modifying physiological functions by exerting a pharmacological, immunological, or metabolic action, or to making a medical diagnosis.
- The Human Medicines Regulations 2012 (S.I. 2012/1916)

So the second a person says our supplement helped them, they can brand it an unlicensed "medicine" and order us to pull it off the shelf.

I wonder who brought that law in. I wonder who it benefits most?.

To find out what our customers really think, you'll have to leave the country. The reviews work exactly as normal, they're just not hosted in the UK any more.

Yes, really. In what's meant to be a free country, you have to leave it to read what your neighbour thought of a supplement they bought from us.
